VINYL FIT TIPS:

Here are some helpful tips to ensure your inserts fit perfectly inside your vinyl sleeve.

1. Basic Insert Setup:

   • Start by carefully placing your vinyl sleeve under the string/elastic of your outer notebook jacket.
   • Place Insert 1 directly onto the string/elastic, on top of the sleeve.
   • Next, place Insert 2 on top of Insert 1, but only slide its front cover into the sleeve.
   • Now, take Insert 3 and place it on the back cover of Insert 1, sliding only its back cover into the sleeve.
   • At this point, you have three inserts secured on a single string/elastic.

2. Adding More Inserts:

   • Close the sleeve with the three inserts inside.
   • Place Insert 4 (cover only) into the front pocket of the sleeve.
   • Then, place Insert 5 (front cover only) into the back pocket of the sleeve.
   • Now, you have five inserts on a single string/elastic.

3. Fitting a Larger Notebook:

   • If you're using a larger notebook as the first insert, slowly fold its front cover inward and slide it into the interior sleeve pockets, like wings.
   • Gently stretch the vinyl cover to close it.
   • To help the vinyl mold perfectly to your notebook, you can:
     • Place a heavy object on top for 24 hours.
     • Use a heat tool or hair dryer to apply light heat to the spine. (This is my preferred method—it helps the vinyl shape around the book for a snug, glove-like fit.)

4. Important Note on Vinyl Sizing:

   • Vinyl can stretch but cannot shrink. Cold temperatures will not reduce it smaller than its original size, though it may return close to its pre-stretched form.
   • Our vinyl is intentionally thin and malleable, designed to stretch and fit books with up to a 1-inch spine—such as Archer & Olive, Paper Minty, and other hardbound books.
